In a nutshell, it is exactly what the name implies - a concert in someone's home. Distractions like televisions, pool tables, and loud conversations make it difficult for both the artist and the audience to connect in a club. House Concerts are informal and relaxed, and the whole idea for everyone attending is to have a good time. It is the perfect combination of great music with great friends in a comfortable, intimate setting, enjoying live music - and without the two drink minimum or the smoke-filled atmosphere that is still sometimes found in a club. As the artist, Kaleo Wheeler is a singer with a range of different song styles, a performer and storyteller with more than 25 years of professional experience. Her concerts are fun, exciting, different and uplifting. Her music is called Positive and World music. The format she uses is what the Hawaiians call "Talk Story" - informal and interactive dialogue and group participation through music and song, stories and laughter, and sometimes poignant memories - creating a deeper sense of community and a dynamic and personally enriching experience for each person there. People return home with feelings of hope and inspiration and new ways of looking at and designing their lives. When sharing a song, she might use a small harp to accompany it or instrumental tracks on a CD. She has an extensive background in the Hawaiian tradition and also sometimes shares a traditional Hawaiian hula. Everyone present might be encouraged to get up and move or learn a little bit of hula. For many, it takes them back to a pleasant memory of when they visited Hawai'i. The beauty of this graceful and flowing dance is that there is no right or wrong way to do it - the movements are simple for each person to enjoy in their own way and have fun with. All of her music contains a unique and inovative vision. Listen to uplifting and peaceful songs from the past that are often lost as well as modern songs that all reflect important messages and insights, helping us to remember our own stories and our own personal sense of purpose and value in the world and how we came to where we are in life.
