I bring Hawai'i to you through Hawaiian favorites such as Little Brown Gal, Hukilau and I'll Remember You as well as some of the more traditional chants and hulas.
I have found that seniors love to participate in my show. It is so much fun to encourage them to get up and experience dancing the traditional hula–for many, it takes them back to a pleasant memory of when they did this in Hawai'i. Even audience members confined to a bed or wheelchair are not left out. They often hum or sing along or follow the gentle arm movements as others are dancing. The beauty of hula is that there is no right or wrong way to do it– the movements are simply for each person to enjoy and have fun. Family members are encouraged to come and experience this with their loved ones, as creating new and warm memories together is uplifting for all.
This is a relaxing, engaging, exciting and fun event that warms the hearts of everyone present, and is a wonderful treat for anyone who would like to take a short trip back to the sweet sound of days gone by.
