What is a house concert? In a nutshell, it is exactly what the name implies - a concert in someone's home. People don't always have the oportunity to go to a large concert hall and with the price of gas and travel, it can be expensive. Distractions like televisions, pool tables, and loud conversations make it difficult for an artist to connect with an audience in a club. House Concerts are informal and relaxed, and the whole idea for everyone attending is to have a good time. It is the perfect combination of great music with great friends in a comfortable, intimate setting, enjoying live music - and without the two drink minimum or the smokey atmosphere of a club.
As the artist, Kaleo Wheeler is a gifted singer/performer, interpreter of song, motivational speaker and beautiful dancer. Her music is a range of different song styles from her years of experience as a professional vocal artist. She customizes her concerts to the type of song style each group or audience resonates with. It can include contemporary pop, standards of the 40's, 50's or 60's, musical theatre, and celtic music accompanied by a small harp. She has also traveled extensively to Hawai'i where she has friends and family. She has strudied traditional hula and chant with severl kumu hula (traditional chant and hula teachers) both in Hawai'i and on the mainland. Her specialty is in Hawaiian theme house concerts - through sacred chants, Hawaiian songs, traditional hula and "talk story".
All of her music contains a unique and inovative vision. Listen to uplifting and peaceful songs from the past that are often lost as well as modern songs that all reflect important messages and insights, helping us to remember our own stories and our own personal sense of purpose and value in the world and how we came to where we are in life. In doing so, it can help us to better deal with the stresses and anxieties of day-to-day challenges and the uncertainties that surround us in the world today, and to remember that we are all One Family, no matter our differences.
Kaleo loves sharing her music and songs through these House Concerts; because in this intimate setting, she can connect more intimately with each one; and through your interaction together, a deeper sense of relationship and community is created.
Sound like fun? Don't miss the opportunity to have a delightful and transforming evening of song, story and community in this intimate, live setting right in your own home with your friend
s and family.
Here is a great video further explaining what house concerts are all about.
Kaleo is also an artist with the GINA for Missing Persons Foundation, a group that works with artists to help bring attention and media awareness for missing persons world-wide. Each of Kaleo's house concerts are dedicated to helping to find a missing person in the area where it is being held. Flyers about the missing person are handed out for people to post, and a portion of the proceeds are donated to the Foundation. Kaleo is very excited about being involved with this through her music. To date, 60 people have been found by GINA. If you would like to find out more about the Foundation, you can go to www.411Gina.org.
"You are an extremely powerful, strong, and fiercely tender singer. I am not quite sure that I have come across that combination in an artist. It is striking. You are so gifted." -Marna Young

The more the merrier! You’d be amazed at how many people can fit into a room. It’s a good idea to invite everyone from co-workers to good friends, to neighbors, and anyone you know will really enjoy meaningful stories and great music. You’ll be surprised how many people will hear about the event after and wish that they had been able to come and be part of it.
How many people will fit in your living room? – Kaleo will take up approximately a 6x9 foot space – a little more or a little less depending on the room configuration.
